Why this exists
Bent Eared Records grew out of real-world audio work across live environments, remote locations, and unpredictable recording situations.
Over time, one thing became clear across every project:
important audio was often being lost or compromised — not because of a lack of talent, but because of a lack of time, care, or appropriate setup.
Sound carries memory. It holds presence. It defines how moments are remembered.
This is why Bent Eared Records exists:
to make sure important sound is captured properly, not just recorded.
What we do
We work across three core areas:
Studio Recording
High-quality recording and production for artists and bands, focused on clarity, character, and performance — not over-processing.
Live Sound & Touring
Reliable, consistent audio support for live performances, tours, and events — including regional and remote environments across Tasmania and Australia.
Field & Story Recording
Location-based recording for film, documentary, interviews, and archival projects, including oral histories and personal story capture.
This work often focuses on preservation — capturing voices and moments that won’t be repeated.

We bring together engineers and operators with experience across studio recording, live production, touring environments, and field audio work.
Depending on the project, the team scales to meet the needs of the work — from focused studio sessions through to full live production setups.
